Less Cancer Hike and Bike America 2024

For over a decade, the Less Cancer Hike and Bike America has quickly become an annual tradition for cyclists and hikers alike. Through various iterations, the event has become a vital fundraiser for Less Cancer, a non-profit organization prioritizing cancer prevention as a core tenant of public health.

You can make a difference. Ride, hike, and get outside as often as you can between June 1 and July 5. Registration is free, and your participation helps us raise awareness and funding that will improve the lives of millions of individuals and families nationwide.

Traverse City’s Less Cancer Bike Ride

Traverse City hosts one of the largest organized Less Cancer bike ride events in the country on the second weekend of June every summer. Join us for 5 miles or 60 for a beautiful morning in Leelanau County at a no-drop pace of 18-20 miles per hour. We’ll take in some of the best roads in northern Michigan and just a few of the best climbs, all for a great cause.

How You Can Join

The Less Cancer Hike and Bike America is focused on inclusivity. For the first time, registration is free, eliminating financial barriers to participation. If it makes sense for you, consider donating when you sign up, but there is no obligation; we just want you involved!

1. Register to ride or hike.

Register to ride or hike as often as you can from June 1 through July 5. Join the kolo t.c. team or create your own team with friends, family, or co-workers!

2. RSVP for June 8.

If you’re in Traverse City, join the team for 66 miles of glorious riding in the County on our traditional Less Cancer route! It’s a 3.5 to 4-hour ride at a steady pace of 20 miles per hour with roughly 3,000 feet of climbing. Plenty of riders turn off early, too, so feel free to make it whatever distance you want! We’ll also have a few folks doing a shorter 10-mile out and back on the Leelanau Trail.

RSVP to the ride on Strava for the latest updates.

3. Get a few donations.

Send the team donation link to friends, family, co-workers, and anyone you think will support the Less Cancer mission. Every dollar helps support cancer prevention programs and campaigns that drive real change.

Ride with Less Cancer and Sovis Media

Together, we can improve access to healthcare, reduce environmental cancer risks, and educate healthcare providers and families on cost-effective, accessible ways to prevent cancer.

Ready to ride? Get in touch with questions and join Sovis Media and dozens of area cyclists in pedaling the path of prevention on June 8.
